-

» CHELTENHAM Town Ladies have signed full-back Sammy Hallsworth from Watford.

She has also previously been with Forest Green Rovers and Swindon Town, spending the last two seasons at Watford in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division and also representing England Colleges.

The Robins have also signed 16-year-old former Swindon Town Regional Talent Centre player Sarah King.

They also had two new signings from Wolverhampton Wanderers in their squad which beat Redditch United on Sunday.

Centre-half Mai Butler has captained Wolves and was also part of the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands title-winning squad in 2017.

Miidfielder Charlotte Criddle was also part of the Wolves squad last year that finished runners-up to champions West Bromwich Albion.

An Ella Hitchcox brace after a Becky Wilkins’ opener secured Cheltenham Town Ladies’ third win on the bounce in pre-season as they beat Redditch United 3-2.

Cheltenham went in front when Butler, after snuffing out another Redditch move, fed Ella Hitchcox on the left wing. She stepped inside and set the ball back for Becky Wilkins, who struck it first time and buried it.

Redditch equalised less than 10minutes later, after Louise Fensome was adjudged to have fouled her marker. The free-kick was struck superbly and found its way into the top corner of Clark’s net.

What happened next stunned everybody, as Hitchcox gambling in the box. was caught by her marker, but managed to get a touch. Expecting a whistle, both sides switched off and the ball found its way into the bottom corner from Hitchcox’s deflection and the goal stood.

Redditch didn’t take long to equalise after half-time. After being given a free-kick in their own penalty area, a sweetly struck shot found the net.

Cheltenham didn’t take long to get themselves back in front, Hitchcox again proving too much for Redditch to handle.

A long goalkick from Clark sat right for the pacey winger, to run into before unleashing a sizzling strike into the far corner.
