Wood­man­cote Vil­lage Hall will host an ex­hi­bi­tion of more than 100 quilts and other items on Satur­day, Au­gust 31, 10am-5pm, and Sun­day, Septem­ber 1, 11am-4pm.

Vanessa’s Patch­work Jour­ney is in aid of two lo­cal char­i­ties, Mag­gie’s can­cer cen­tre and The But­ter­fly Gar­den.

The sum­mer An­i­mal Bless­ing Ser­vice in Wood­man­cote Vil­lage Hall, run by the Rev Dr Dee Bri­er­ley Jones Bush­combe Lane is can­celled, due to the ex­pected hot weather.

How­ever the Christ­mas Carol ser­vice will go ahead on Sun­day De­cem­ber 1, 2pm.

This un­usual non-church pet ser­vice is a lo­cal gath­er­ing of pet own­ers joined to­gether by the love of their pets, in a colour­ful and fun way, with mu­sic supplied by Chel­tenham Brass Band.

Ev­ery­one wel­come, no en­try fee, park­ing avail­able.

Wood­man­cote Probus Club meet­ings take place on Tues­days at Wood­man­cote New Vil­lage Hall, start­ing at 9.30am, with re­fresh­ments fol­lowed by the talk at 10.30am.

On Au­gust 6, the topic will be the Coro­na­tion Henry III, with speaker Dr Tim Brain.

Wood­man­cote WI meets at 7.30pm on the third Thurs­day of the month in Wood­man­cote Vil­lage Hall.

On Septem­ber 19, the talk will be called Kim Philby, Traitor, Gen­tle­man and Spy which will be given by Bob Skelt.
