County medals for Al­most pair

THE Glouces­ter 5km race in Hares­field was at­tended by more than 30 mem­bers of Al­most Ath­letes.

Matt Pol­son was first Al­most to cross the line in 12th with a time of 18.26, fol­lowed by Matt Hick­man in 19.09 and Jean-philippe Vil­lain­chas­tre in 19.56.

For the ladies, He­lena Youde fin­ished in 21.18, Louise Inch­ley in 25.02 and Sophie Lan­g­ley in 25.21.

Youde was pre­sented with a gold Glouces­ter­shire county medal and Matt Pol­son with sil­ver.

A num­ber of mem­bers took part in events over­seas.

An­drew Wilkin­son com­pleted the Malta 10km night run in 52.44 while Piotr Michal­ski ran the Biegsw Do­minika 5km race in Gdansk, Poland, in 21.49.

Karla Clev­er­ley trav­elled all the way to Taupo, New Zealand to take part in her first marathon which she fin­ished in 7:17.

A small group of Al­mosts took part in the Barry Is­land 10km with Josh Rim­mel cross­ing the line in 52.13, Dave Mayo in 55.16. Deb Cartlidge in 56.04, and Iris Mayo in 1:13.

Julianne Jame­son com­pleted the Broad­meadow Runs Aston Subedge Marathon, an off-road event with 2,200 feet of as­cent, in 6:15.

In­grid Har­ris and Al­lan Green ran the Van­guard Way Marathon in Croy­don with Har­ris third lady to fin­ish with a time of 4:34, whilst Green ran a slightly longer dis­tance in 6:40.

At Chel­tenham parkrun, Josh Hand came 12th with a time of 18:59 and there was a PB for Felic­ity Read with 29.44.

Ben Tay­lor was sec­ond at Newent parkrun with 20.25, whilst Maisie Markham was sec­ond lady at Ana­cos­tia, Wash­ing­ton DC with 27.28.

Pa­tri­cia Peever was sixth lady in Glouces­ter City with 26.04 and Al­mosts were also run­ning at the in­au­gu­ral Ross-on-wye event, Barry Is­land, Cirences­ter, Cler­mont Wa­ter­front in Florida, Goly­nia in Poland, Houghton Hall, Ormeau in South Belfast, Portsmouth Lake­side, Prospect, Street in Som­er­set, Wit­ney, Woot­ton, and Wy­combe Rye.

Four Al­mosts trav­elled to the cap­i­tal to take part in Ride Lon­don 2019, a 100 mile cy­cle ride and Dave Chittock, Michelle Balchin, Nicky Wood­man and Helen Furs­man-reid suc­cess­fully com­pleted the ride.
