» Cheltenham Borough Council is thinking of introducing parking charges for several small free car parks around Cheltenham and the two affecting this area are Church Piece where the library is situated and Sixways behind Badhams and the doctor’s surgery.
The idea is to introduce charges to prevent some people staying for long periods of time and to use the money to maintain the area.
The proposed charge will be £1 for up to two hours.
It is now too late to voice your views on this proposal direct to the borough council but as this will affect many local people especially the car park behind Badhams on the London Road.
On Badham’s counter is a petition for everyone to sign if you are against this idea.
Otherwise you can take up the matter with local councillors. A decision is
expected in September.
