Queen showers honours on firm for a steady flow of innovation

MIRA Showers has been celebratin­g a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise Edward Gillespie, the Lord-lieutenant of Gloucester­shire, and Cheltenham Borough Council leader Councillor Steve Jordan were among the invited guests at an event at the company’s Cheltenham base.

The latest award for recognises the Mira Sport Max shower which uses patented technology to increase water flow by up to 30 per cent without using any more water.

The company was previously awarded the honour in 2017 for its Flight Safe anti-slip shower tray.

Mr Gillespie presented the Queen’s Award to managing director Craig Baker with guests enjoying a factory visit and afternoon tea.

Mr Baker said: “This award highlights our commitment to innovation and the hard work and level of detail we put into the research and design stages, which allows us to ensure products we bring to market are meeting the ever-changing demands from both consumers and installers.

“As a forward-thinking company, our focus on developing exclusive technology is what has made Mira the biggest contributo­r to the showering industry in the last 90 years.

He continued: “Mira’s Research & Developmen­t team is always working collaborat­ively to look for ways to optimise the showering experience.”

“Installers are the voice of the user, and so holding regular meetings with our Installer Clubs throughout the UK gives us valuable insight to shape the design of products and bring new technology to life.”

Mira Showers representa­tives joined other Queen’s Award winners at a royal reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the accolade.

Additional Mira patented technologi­es featured in the Mira Sport Max, include Opti-flo technology which optimises flow throughout the year without the need to switch to half power, no matter the weather.

It also features Clearscale technology which cuts limescale by up to 50 per cent for a better-performing, longerlast­ing shower.

Other innovation­s include Sensi-flo which prevents scalding if the shower head or hose become blocked or the inlet pressure drops.

The electric shower’s separate power and temperatur­e controls allow users to set their perfect shower

Advanced pressure stabilised temperatur­e controls keep their selected showering temperatur­e consistent.
