THE manager of a Cheltenham takeaway has hailed his mother’s secret recipe which he believes sets the business apart from its competitors.

Ecstatic Josh Krori revealed why he thinks the Rogan Josh in Winchcombe Street won big at the English Curry Awards 2019.

The prestigious ceremony, held in Birmingham on Monday evening, saw the local eatery win the regional ‘Takeaway of the Year’ category before scooping the national prize as well.

Mr Krori, 40, said: “We feel ecstatic, it’s a dream come true.

“We are very proud of producing fresh meals from the best produce.

“Our chef, Mohammad Rauf, has been in the business 22 years. We aim to provide an amazing service to our loyal customers.

“I’d like to thank them, our staff and Oceanic Consulting for holding this prestigious event.”

Asked what dish impresses customers the most, the manager said: “Josh’s House Special is very good - an aromatic curry prepared using freshly ground garam masala, herbs and other sun dried spices. “It’s my mother’s secret recipe.” The takeaway was set up in Cheltenham nine years ago and its customers have given it four stars out of five on ratings site Trip Advisor.

There is another branch in Newent, which is currently closed for refurbishment.
