Outstanding care earns its reward with in inspection
AHOME care company has cause to celebrate after being awarded an outstanding rating for the second time running.
Home Instead Cheltenham and Cotswolds received its latest award from the Care Quality Commission.
The report said: “The managers had sustained their outstanding care by continually reviewing their practices and using creative ways of supporting people by using the latest technology and care practices.”
Of 9,400 home care companies, only 333 are rated as outstanding.
Inspectors spoke to members of staff, clients and their families.
Inspectors said: “Everyone told us they were treated with kindness and were treated as equals.
And they praised the fact that staff were ‘exceptionally caring and went out of their way to ensure people lived a fulfilled life,’ taking ‘a balanced approach to enabling people to retain their independence.’
Home Instead Cheltenham owner Amanda Hamer said: “To read a collection of so many lovely stories about our caregivers, and beautiful comments shared by our clients and their families is very moving.
“I know that my team does outstanding work. I am very pleased to have it officially confirmed for a second time.
“When I read that the health care professionals we work with were ‘overwhelmingly positive’ about the service we provide I felt very proud.
“As the report says, people are at the heart of what we do. We will continue to stay true to our Home Instead values and to provide the highest standard of care to the older people in our community.”
