Duff’s delight after victory
Does that make it better, that you have switched it around?
It’s pleasing that you are not relying on 10 or 12 players. It’d be lovely if you were winning every week and you just keep rolling out the same 11, but the way this league comes at you, you have to be really lucky to not pick up injuries. We have real competition for places now, Chris Hussey comes back on the pitch now because Josh (Debayo) started to look a bit tired, but I thought Josh was excellent. His defending was good and his winger didn’t go past him once. I thought Josh was one of a number. Everyone was excellent today.
It sets up a cracker for Saturday, with Swindon coming to town
Yes, I think tonight’s result makes Saturday’s result really good (0-0 draw at Morecambe). If we can go and beat Swindon it makes it an excellent result. It’s not that easy and I do think, and I’ve told the players, they are the best team we’ve seen between the scouts and the staff so far this season. They move it, they are expansive and devastating on the counter attack. But, we will be aware of that and hopefully be able impose ourselves on them as we did last year.
Seven points out of 12, is that a decent start?
Absolutely and I am not sure how long it took to get to seven points last year, but last year is parked. It is what it is, we want to improve on last year. We are two out of two at home and we have got a clean sheet and a point away from home, which is another stepping stone. It’s so early and if we’d lost the first four games I’ve have been saying you need 10 or 12 games you need to start making a marker and that’s when you start looking at the league table.
