Graeme stays on as Shaw signs 3-year deal

GLOUCES­TER­SHIRE all-rounder Graeme van Bu­uren has signed a new 12-month con­tract which will keep him with the club un­til the end of the 2020 sea­son.

The South African, pic­tured, joined Glouces­ter­shire in April 2016 and has played in all com­pe­ti­tions this sea­son.

In the Royal Lon­don One-day Cup, van Bu­uren av­er­aged 30 with the bat and took four wick­ets in the six matches he played.

He is also av­er­ag­ing 30 in the County Cham­pi­onship and had match best fig­ures of 3-46 against Sus­sex at Arun­del in June.

van Bu­uren said: “I have loved it here since join­ing the club in 2016. y fam­ily and I have made life­long friends and I can’t wait to keep that go­ing. We are play­ing fan­tas­tic cricket, hope­fully we can end the sea­son with suc­cess.

The South African’s new deal fol­lows the sign­ing of Josh Shaw from York­shire on a three-year deal.

The 23-year-old, who has al­ready had two loan spells at the club this year, Shaw has taken 23 wick­ets in the six County Cham­pi­onship matches he has played ahead of this week’s game at Derby.

Daw­son added: “It’s great that Josh is join­ing us for the long term af­ter York­shire al­lowed him to come on a few loan spells over the past few sea­sons.

“All the coaches and back room staff are look­ing for­ward to work­ing with him and con­tin­u­ing his de­vel­op­ment.”
