Graeme stays on as Shaw signs 3-year deal
GLOUCESTERSHIRE all-rounder Graeme van Buuren has signed a new 12-month contract which will keep him with the club until the end of the 2020 season.
The South African, pictured, joined Gloucestershire in April 2016 and has played in all competitions this season.
In the Royal London One-day Cup, van Buuren averaged 30 with the bat and took four wickets in the six matches he played.
He is also averaging 30 in the County Championship and had match best figures of 3-46 against Sussex at Arundel in June.
van Buuren said: “I have loved it here since joining the club in 2016. y family and I have made lifelong friends and I can’t wait to keep that going. We are playing fantastic cricket, hopefully we can end the season with success.
The South African’s new deal follows the signing of Josh Shaw from Yorkshire on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old, who has already had two loan spells at the club this year, Shaw has taken 23 wickets in the six County Championship matches he has played ahead of this week’s game at Derby.
Dawson added: “It’s great that Josh is joining us for the long term after Yorkshire allowed him to come on a few loan spells over the past few seasons.
“All the coaches and back room staff are looking forward to working with him and continuing his development.”
