Gloucestershire Echo - - NEWS -

CHELTENHAM’S newest cocktail bar is applying for the latest licence at the The Brewery Quarter.

It was announced in July that The Alchemist, a popular theatrical cocktail bar and restaurant, will come open in the town next year.

Details of where the bar would go in The Brewery Quarter were previously unknown, but an application to Cheltenham Borough Council shows The Alchemist will open n the unit formerly occupied by Ruby Tuesday.

The application, from NFU Mutual Insurance Society, seeks to extend the opening hours from 8am to 2am everyday.

The company currently has 15 venues across the UK, including sites in Cardiff, Birmingham and Manchester.

The venue is set to open in Summer 2020 and boasts some elaborate cocktails.

A decision on whether to approve the new opening hours will be made by officers at the borough council.

Announcing The Alchemist was planned to arrive in Cheltenham, asset manager of The Brewery Quarter Nikki Kontarines said in July: “We’re delighted to welcome The Alchemist to the tenant portfolio as our next big opening.

“It’s a perfect fit for the leisure and lifestyle mix that we are creating.”
