Inniss makes loan switch across border to League Two rivals
» Former Cheltenham Town loan defender Ryan Inniss has joined Newport County on loan from Crystal Palace for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old centre-back appeared for the Robins during the 2013/14 campaign, making his debut at West Ham United in the second round of the League Cup at Upton Park.
He made four starts for Cheltenham and has since appeared for Luton Town, Gillingham, Yeovil Town, Port Vale, Southend United, Colchester United and, most recently, Dundee.
Inniss made his Palace firstteam bow in a win over Swansea City in the Carabao Cup last season before joining Dundee on loan, where he made 13 appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
Michael Flynn’s Newport reached the League Two play-off final last season, losing out to Tranmere Rovers at Wembley. They also enjoyed a memorable FA Cup run, bowing out to Manchester City in the fifth round.
Midfielder Jake Gray has signed for National League club Woking after spending time on trial with Cheltenham Town this summer.
Gray also appeared on loan for the Robins, from Crystal Palace, during the 2014/15 campaign.
He has since played for Luton Town and Yeovil Town, who he left at the end of last season.
The 23 year old also trained with Wycombe Wanderers and Stevenage in pre-season.
He went on from the bench in Cheltenham’s 3-2 friendly defeat by Burnley Under-23s in July and was due to start at Bromsgrove Sporting, but the match was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch and he was told he would not be offered terms at Whaddon Road.
Woking were promoted from National League South last season via the play-offs.
