Not out of the woods yet
Set a natural and serene scene in the bedroom
WE DO love a nature-inspired statement wallpaper. It can make a room without dominating it. This forest mist mural, as seen in the main picture, has a calming effect. Keep the rest of the walls white or soft grey, to keep the relaxed, tranquil feel. Bedding can be simple white or grey as well, but splash out on a gorgeous velvet throw if you want to make it extra inviting.
CREATE A CALMING OFFICE SPACE IN THE BEDROOM
IN an ideal world, work and sleep space would be separate. If you can’t manage that, section it off by placing the desk facing a window, demarcated with a rug and with separate lighting. A desk with drawers is a must so you can store away your work items at bedtime. Swap a bedside table for a full chest of drawers, to double your storage space. Just make sure they’re low enough for your bedside lamp and essentials.
GO FOR LIGHT WOOD FLOORS
THEY are the perfect complement to grey and white, and you can get them at any price range. Real or reclaimed planks can be pricey, but engineered wood has a realistic effect from around £40 per m2, while wood-effect laminate starts at around £10 per m2. Have a space to read that’s not a bed or desk – a really comfy chair you can cosy up in. It also works as a breakout space when your concentration is waning.
