A REMINDER that it’s not too late to enter the Apperley Quarter Marathon which will take place on Sunday September 22, starting at 11am at Apperley Cricket Club.

This popular event is held over a multi-terrain course around Apperley and Deerhurst.

Visit quartermarathon.co.uk to register.

Supporters and friends will be very welcome at the cricket ground and along the route to cheer on the runners.

Participants will also be very welcome to join in the annual Ride & Stride event on Saturday September 14.

This raises money for the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust which has helped Deerhurst Church over the years.

Half the money you raise goes to the Trust and the other half to a church of your choice.

Visit ghct.org.uk/ride-and-stride for more information.

The Apperley Cricket team which played in the final of the Village Knockout competition at Lord’s 21 years ago (or some of them) played a match against a team of current players on Sunday, August 25.

The match was enjoyed by a good crowd, some of whom had been to Lords to support the team in 1998.
