Two cen­turies fire Lisowski to Selby win

JACK Lisowski was to­day fac­ing Shaun Mur­phy in the quar­ter-fi­nals of the Shang­hai Masters.

The Church­down man reached the last eight with a su­perb 6-3 win over for­mer world cham­pion Mark Selby af­ter a 6-1 first-round win over wild card Wu Yize.

That win saw the 28-year-old world num­ber 11 open up a 4-0 lead helped by breaks of 62 and 81.

The teenage Chi­nese player hit back with a break of 76 to get on the board but runs of 73 and 54 for Lisowski com­pleted the vic­tory.

The for­mer Cho­sen Hill School pupil was also in fine scor­ing form against Selby.

He opened the match with a break of 119 and af­ter the next two frames were shared Lisowski opened up a lead of 3-1 with a break of 105.

But Selby lev­elled the match helped by a break of 107 in frame six only for Lisowski to take the next three frames, and the match, seal­ing the win with a break of 72.

He is guar­an­teed at least £32,000 for reach­ing the last eight of the in­vi­ta­tional event.
