Special relationship at heart of everything

Gloucestershire Echo - - EDUCATION CHOICES -

YOU are warmly invited to join us during our open week where you can tour the school every morning (Monday to Thursday at 9.15am) and/or join us for our open evening on Thursday, September 26, starting at 6pm.

Balcarras is a very friendly and happy school. We are very proud that visitors often comment on the special relationship between students and teachers.

This is at the heart of everything we do and it is the reason why our students go on to achieve some of the best results of any school in the country.

Balcarras is a comprehensive school and we are proud to be so. We believe that every student deserves an outstanding education and we have high expectations of all of our young people.

Supporting them as individuals and encouraging them to do their best is what we thrive on, whether that’s going on to study history at Oxford, moving into an apprenticeship, going directly into employment or whatever.

One thing matters above all else – young people should enjoy their education – they should walk to school with a skip in their step looking forward to engaging lessons and a range of extra-curricular activities.

This simple vision is what motivates us day in day out to create a school which is vibrant, happy and highly successful.

Balcarras headteacher Dominic Burke
