Fine display for Long as he completes his first duathlon event
AT the London Duathlon, Bourton Roadrunners’ Darren Long took part in his first duathlon in Richmond Park.
He completed the run/bike/run event in 2:22:06, finishing 54th in a field of 1400 competitors and third MV45 out of 173.
His times were: 10k run 38:04; 44k bike ride 1:20:12 and a 5k run in 19:34.
Steph Holton was the only Bourton Roadrunner to take part in the Chippenham Half Marathon , part of her preparation for Chicago Marathon and she finished in 1:47:05 and was third LV55.
Susan Hunt completed the gruelling course at the Arden Heart of England Forest Marathon in 5:36:17.
Three Bourton Roadrunners travelled to Bristol to compete in the annual half marathon.
First to finish was Nick Harper in 2:16:11 followed by Allie Quinn in 2:23:54, with Donna Harper bringing home the trio in 2:42:37 after taking a tumble on the course.
All three runners were pleased to finish, all having recently recovered from injuries.
Cathryn Nesbitt, the only Bourton representative to take part in the Worcester City 10k, did well to complete the course in 58:12, 10th from 87 in her LV55 age category and well inside the top half of the field.
The Hullavington 10k saw Linda Edwards finish in 54:07, continuing with her preparation for Berlin Marathon.
