Fine dis­play for Long as he com­pletes his first duathlon event

AT the Lon­don Duathlon, Bourton Roadrunner­s’ Dar­ren Long took part in his first duathlon in Rich­mond Park.

He com­pleted the run/bike/run event in 2:22:06, fin­ish­ing 54th in a field of 1400 com­peti­tors and third MV45 out of 173.

His times were: 10k run 38:04; 44k bike ride 1:20:12 and a 5k run in 19:34.

Steph Holton was the only Bourton Road­run­ner to take part in the Chip­pen­ham Half Marathon , part of her prepa­ra­tion for Chicago Marathon and she fin­ished in 1:47:05 and was third LV55.

Su­san Hunt com­pleted the gru­elling course at the Ar­den Heart of Eng­land For­est Marathon in 5:36:17.

Three Bourton Roadrunner­s trav­elled to Bris­tol to com­pete in the an­nual half marathon.

First to fin­ish was Nick Harper in 2:16:11 fol­lowed by Al­lie Quinn in 2:23:54, with Donna Harper bring­ing home the trio in 2:42:37 af­ter tak­ing a tum­ble on the course.

All three run­ners were pleased to fin­ish, all hav­ing re­cently re­cov­ered from in­juries.

Cathryn Nes­bitt, the only Bourton rep­re­sen­ta­tive to take part in the Worces­ter City 10k, did well to com­plete the course in 58:12, 10th from 87 in her LV55 age cat­e­gory and well in­side the top half of the field.

The Hullav­ing­ton 10k saw Linda Edwards fin­ish in 54:07, con­tin­u­ing with her prepa­ra­tion for Ber­lin Marathon.
