Green continues his big marathon odyssey
ALMOST Athlete Allan Green continued his marathon odyssey, traveling Down Under to run the Sydney Marathon in a time of 4:17.
Despite the 28 degree heat, Green was delighted to complete his 577 th career marathon.
Also overseas, ex-pat club member Andy Wilkinson tackled the Attard 5k in Malta in a time of 23:27.
At the Worcester Half marathon, Richard Birch was first home for the Almosts in 1:29 for third in his age category.
Also competing were Dave Nelson 2:32, Chris Benjamin 2:01, Dave Mayo 2:04, Alison Gregg 2:07, Julie Birt 2:19, Rob Hume 1:50 and Alison Hume 1:56.
At the Bristol Half Marathon Rob Rennell ran 2:53 for a course PB while at the Worcester 10K Iris Mayo and Rachael Nolan ran together for 1:13.
At the Cotswold Big 2-mile Swim, Wendy Haskins was over the line in 1:15 for a special cake prize and Karen Hilton in 49 minutes and at the Sandford Park Lido Sprint Triathlon Lepha Mccartan completed in 1:20, Hannah Brown 1:22 and Claire Hawes 1:51, while in the Supersprint version, Sarah Carr did 52:57 and Nat Stow 47:33 and Matt Proome completed the Vitruvian middledistance triathlon.
Claire Gallagher was run director at the inaugural King George V parkrun in Cheltenham where Helena Youde was first lady and there was a parkrun PB for Dunc Mounsor in 20;35 in Pittville Park.
Parkrun tourists were Jo Johnston at Armidale, Ben Stone at Lydney as first finisher, Pete Mitchener and Jeannette Gullick at The Eden Project and Natalie Jayne at Wendover Woods, where she ran a PB.
