Brush up on your digital skills at Google workshops

-

GLOBAL search engine giant Google is returning to the South West next month to deliver two free workshops designed to help businesses grow.

Top Google trainer Jess Elder will be attending the Business Showcase South West on Wednesday, October 23, at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.

She will be leading Google’s Digital Garage workshops and offering advice to businesses and organisations across the region looking to develop a digital marketing plan and create a strong presence online.

Google has hosted its business workshops at the Business Showcase South West for four years.

The idea is to help small businesses, charities, individuals and aspiring entrepreneurs brush up on the digital skills they need to grow their businesses, careers and confidence.

In the first workshop, attendees will learn how to build a plan to engage an audience or find new customers online through social media strategy and best practice.

The session will focus on how companies can be ‘seen and heard’ on the web. Jess will cover the importance of defining a set of marketing guidelines, too.

The second workshop is about creating a digital marketing strategy. Jess will offer an introduction to the main digital marketing channels and how to use them to build a strategy.

She will also help attendees learn about the main digital marketing channels and how they are used to help businesses.

The session offers to help delegates learn how to create and structure a practical digital marketing plan for a small business utilising the main digital marketing channels.

Showcase organiser, Jamie Breese, said: “There’s something at this event for everybody on the day – from start-up warriors to experienced CEOS, and everyone is welcome to come along and take part in a true celebration of business in the South West.

“We are offering a complete 360-degree business growth and networking experience for thousands in just one day.

“We will have everything under one roof – from a breakfast networking event to speed-networking sessions, keynotes from industry leaders and seminars from experts in their field.”

The Business Showcase Southwest is a day-long business development and networking opportunity that has more than 220 stands taken by companies from across the region.

More than 5,000 attendees are expected to make their way to the stadium to take part in eight expertled seminars in the Reach Solutions Seminar Zone, and listen to top speakers from the world of business.

“If you are in business, are thinking about being in business or have something to say, then this is a truly must-attend event with rich content, new connections and unlimited networking opportunities,” added Jamie.

The event is supported by Reach Solutions plc – the publisher of the Gloucestershire Echo, Gloucester Citizen, Bristol Post, Bath Chronicle and Western Daily Press.

The showcase is taking place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and there is free parking in Ashton Court for delegates.

There is also a free bus system being run by First Bus, which will operate from Temple Meads railway station and other key points in the city.
