ASK DIARMUID

Gloucestershire Echo - - YOUR GARDEN -

Q CAN you tell me what this plant is? It’s about 12 inches high. Many thanks. Avril Brown A THIS looks like Pink mulla mulla, or to give it the proper Latin name, Ptilotus exaltatus. It’s a fairly recent arrival in the UK and a lovely one too. It’s native to central Australia and is really drought-tolerant – a factor that is becoming increasingly important in plant selection, especially in the south east. I love the pink bottle brush spikes. Pink mulla mulla makes a great summer container plant.
