I hope Adam will return to the game

Gloucestershire Echo - - SPORTING INDEX -

» THIS week saw my good friend and ex-teammate Adam Eustace convicted of assault after entering the field of play and striking a linesman. With charges being brought against Adam that ended in a fine and community service, and ultimately a criminal record, this is incredibly sad. Players, and coaches do at times step over the mark, when passions run high. Of course Adam will be upset with the judgement, and he has since stated that he does not want to take any further part in rugby.

Losing players and coaches with Adam’s talent is very disturbing for the community game in Gloucestershire, and something that is not helpful.

I hope when the dust settles Adam will think again and return to the game. This incident will not define Adam’s career at all, a player who played the game with great skill and passion.

He was a loyal teammate, and still is great friend. I wish him all the success and his young family, whatever he does in the future.
