‘Exquisite’ restaurant in the running for top award
ONE of Cheltenham’s best restaurants is in contention for another accolade.
Prithvi, which has amazed diners for the past seven years, is a finalist in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.
The eatery relocated to No.38 The Park late last year and is aiming to see off the competition in the South West category.
Bosses will find out at a ceremony at Westminster Park Plaza, London, on Sunday.
ARTA solely focuses on the Asian restaurant industry, from chefs to small eateries, food cart owners and five-star curry houses.
The red-carpet event will be hosted by BBC News presenter Samantha Simmonds and comedian/magician Paul Martin.
Celebrities, politicians, business leaders and sports personalities will be invited.
Recent reviews of Prithvi on Tripadvisor have called it “exquisite” and “outstanding”.
Michelin inspectors previously said: “This smart Indian restaurant is a refreshing break from the norm, with its ambitious owner, designer decor, detailed service and refined cooking.
“Reinvented Indian and Bangladeshi dishes are presented in a sophisticated manner.”
Dishes on the a la carte menu include fillet of beef with curried squash, red cabbage and black garlic plus aubergine, red lentil curry, pickled chilli jus, and samphire pakora.
