A first for firefighter after helping to deliver baby with paramedics
»
A FIREFIGHTER in Gloucestershire has helped to deliver a baby while on shift with the ambulance service.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service have been providing emergency response drivers to South Western Ambulance Foundation Trust during the coronavirus pandemic.
During one such shift, firefighter Ellis was able to assist with the delivery of a healthy baby.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the good news in a Tweet. From @Glosfire, they posted: “One of the many things our fantastic staff have been doing to support Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Local Resilience Forum during Covid-19 is providing emergency response drivers to our South Western Ambulance Foundation Trust colleagues.
“And yesterday we heard the great news that FF Ellis helped deliver a healthy baby! Awww.”
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue are currently advertising for an on-call firefighter, and, as part of the job advert, the test to become a firefighter has been revealed.
