ONE of Cheltenham’s biggest leisure destinations has revealed it is making preparations in order to reopen after lockdown.

Non-essential businesses and shops will be able to reopen from June 15 but with leisure and hospitality set to have to wait until July 4 at the earliest, Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter has said that ‘there are no specific dates of when venues will reopen.’

The Brewery Quarter in the centre of Cheltenham is home to the likes of shops including Urban Outfitters and Luke 1977 as well as a number of restaurants and cafes such as Son of Steak, Cosy Club and Nandos.

However at the moment they don’t have any specific dates for when venues in the centre will open but the Brewery Quarter has revealed that their venues are ‘making preparations’ once they reopen.

The steps include installing social distance signs and making sanitising stations available within the outdoor areas as well as other measures.

Demelsa Coleman, Marketing Manager to The Brewery Quarter said: “We are aware of venues making preparations for when the lockdown rules ease.

“The Brewery Quarter is preparing to install social distancing signage and sanitising stations within the outdoor areas as well as encouraging venues to ensure that these and other safety measures are in place within their businesses, keeping customers and staff as safe as possible.

“Currently the venues that are open for takeaway and delivery are Creams Cafe, Five Guys and SOHO Coffee, whilst Tesco and Wilko remain open for essential shopping.”

The news comes not long after John Lewis in Cheltenham announced that it will be reopening on Thursday, June 18.
