Come and enjoy brunch and tea in the park at new cafes

-

» EARLIER this year The Cheltenham Trust opened a pop-up café at Pittville Pump Room which proved extremely popular with visitors during the February half-term.

The café was in response to feedback from customers that their visit to the Grade I listed Regency gem would have been enhanced if café facilities were available.

The pop up café was the first opportunity visitors had been able to enjoy tea and cake at the Pump Room for almost 30 years.

Following its success, and the positive feedback, from café customers it was planned to provide the facility on a regular basis and to extend the range of lunches and cakes on offer.

Those plans had to change due to the coronavirus pandemic which has meant the Trust is unable to welcome visitors inside its venues due to the ongoing Government guidance.

So, instead, the Trust is creating an innovative, new and exciting offer at its outdoors spaces at the Garden Bar in Imperial Gardens and the Pittville Pump Room where shortly it will open an outdoors heritage café and tea room.

Visitors will be able to enjoy safe, socially-distanced morning coffee, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, cream teas and ice cream under the elegant portico taking in the beautiful view across Pittville Park to the lake.

The safety of customers and staff is the Trust’s top priority and a range of health and safety measures have been put in place.

All food and drinks will be served in disposable, take-away cartons with disposable cutlery, a one-way system will be in place and customers will be encouraged to order and pay using the café’s dedicated app, and to dispose of their waste in bins that will be readily available.

Tables and chairs will be available and these will be cleaned between every customer and social distancing will be observed at all times.

The new cafés will open daily from 10am from Monday June 22 when we’ll be welcoming the community back.

A key feature will be the ‘letsmeetagain bunting that the community helped to create to decorate the venues.

A special weekend is being planned when makers will be able to see their handiwork and meet others who took part in the community bunting project.

What better opportunity to enjoy a relaxed weekend brunch or while away an afternoon in beautiful locations listening to live music?

An exciting programme is being created from a piano soloist to upbeat 1950s jazz and swing, with the possibility of watching a dancer or two!

Brunch and tea in the park is not something you’ll want to miss so follow us on social media and our website www.cheltenhamtrust.org.uk to keep up to date on our themed events and special evenings.

We look forward to welcoming you to our outdoor spaces soon.
