ST PETER’S HIGH SCHOOL, GLOUCESTER

-

ST Peter’s is a caring school with happy students who make excellent progress socially, spiritually and academically.

It is an over-subscribed co-educational school for students from 11 to 19. Our aim is to provide a high quality education in a Christian environment.

Pupils learn, grow and have many opportunities to develop our core ROCK values of respect, optimism, community and kindness as well as to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities including charity, chaplaincy, drama, eco club, music and a wide range of sports to enhance their academic development.

All children are blessed with talents and it is our job to allow them to flourish.

Our mission is to provide a rigorous and broad education within the context of a Christian environment. An understanding of the Roman Catholic faith, in line with the Gospel message, underpins the whole work of the school. Our main aim is to develop the self-esteem, dignity and respect of all members of the community by concentrating on each person’s infinite worth in the eyes of God.

Our charity work demonstrates our willingness to help others outside the school community, whether locally, nationally or internationally. Students and staff participate in a wide range of charitable events and fund raising activities.

We support numerous charities. This includes CAFOD in its efforts to relieve poverty in the developing world which also educates our students.

We are proud that many of our GCSE students regularly achieve all grade 7 and above in their examinations (the equivalent of A and above) and that at

A-level we have students who attain all As and A*s.

However, we are a fully comprehensive school and we are equally pleased for those students who work hard for more moderate results which are a real achievement for them and which will allow them to move on to the next stage of their education.

As always, this year our year 13 students are progressing to a wide range of destinations such as to prestigious ‘Russell Group’ universities including Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge and

Exeter to study subjects including Physics, Religion and Theology, History, Medical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Primary Education, Maths and Computer Science, Contemporary Dance, TV and Film Design, Broadcast Journalism and Politics & International Relations.

Other students have secured prestigious higher-level apprenticeships with companies including Deloitte, one of the ‘big four’ accounting organisations, Chartered Management and data analysis with the RAF.

All children are blessed with talents and it is our job to allow them to flourish
