Exhibition will showcase the lockdown through the arts
DURING lockdown the community in Cheltenham, from children to pensioners, turned to artistic projects further demonstrating how creative the community is.
From knitting and making bunting to creating drawings and paintings, photographs and sculpture, the community expressed their experiences of living through a lockdown through art.
A collection of 40 of the pieces created will be going on display in The Cheltenham Trust’s pop-up exhibition, Art in YOUR Quarter.
The works will be showcased outside the Trust’s iconic buildings including Pittville Pump Room and the Garden Bar in Imperial Gardens, the gallery window of The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum and the Phone Box Gallery on The Promenade for people to enjoy.

The project has been designed by The Wilson as a creative and accessible exhibition that captures the history and mood of 2020.
It is intended to comfort, create and inspire in the continuing challenging times we are all living through.
The exhibition will feature art across a range of mediums from sculpture and watercolour to photography and knitting to poetry and ceramics.
The pop-up exhibition will be able to be enjoyed individually or as part of a trail.
