THE Annual Meeting of Cheltenham Town Supporters Society Ltd will take place on Monday, November 30 (7.30pm).

This year, for the first time in the 15-year history of the Robins Trust, the annual meeting will not be held at Cheltenham Town FC.

Despite not being allowed to congregate as normal, there is important business for the Trust’s members to consider.

As well as elections to the Trust’s board, a poll will be held for the role of Fan Elected Director as Dave Beesley has served an initial two-year term.

A Trust statement said: “In accordance with our rules, we are today opening the period for both the FED election and for posts on the Trust’s board.

“Details of the process for the election to the Trust board can be found on the Trust’s website, www. robinstrust.org.

“Both elections will be subject to independent scrutiny by a member of the Football Supporters Association to ensure complete transparency.

“An agenda for the Annual Meeting, which will state whether elections will be contested will be published four weeks prior to the event and the AGM will be held via Zoom.”

Every year since 2005 the Trust has held their AGM in conjunction with an open forum, attended by members of the club’s board and the manager Michael Duff.

They are exploring ways to ensure that remains the case this year and hope to announce details when publishing the AGM Agenda in due course.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Trust board took the decision to extend all existing memberships until after the AGM to allow all members to vote.

Representatives of the board also are set to meet the club’s board members this week to discuss a joint fund-raising project.

The effect of the pandemic on football has been immense and the Trust is working closely with the FSA as they seek a long-term, wholegame solution.

Cheltenham Town were the first in the EFL where both club and trust were signatories of the #Sustainthegame campaign when it launched in August.

That campaign champions the value each football club has to its community and proposes sweeping reform to the existing, broken, football economy.

One of the Trust’s key objectives has always been to seek to protect the club in a time of crisis, and it’s vital we do our utmost now to see our club through the pandemic.

Our aim is to #Protectourrobins - watch this space for our upcoming joint campaign.
