Deli opens next week at former Axiom site

» A HISTORIC building is due to be transformed into an Italian delicatessen.

The old Axiom building, in Winchcombe Street, is due to be the home of Pastalicious, a new pasta shop and delicatessen.

The deli will operate as a food delivery service, preparing dishes that customers can make at home such as lasagne and cannelloni.

According to co-owner Chris Windsor, the inspiration for the shop was from his wife, who hails from Venice and wanted to bring a taste of Italy to Cheltenham.

The business has already made a name for itself at the Cheltenham farmer’s market, where they have a stall selling fresh pasta and sauces.

However, their new venture, which hopes to provide “something a little different”, promises fresh pasta daily and fresh focaccia that can be bought whole, in slices or as a sandwich.

The deli will also be making Venetian “cicchetti” (tapas) and Italian sandwiches, as well as sauces, fresh pestos and coffee, all made with products sourced from Italy.

Dishes can be picked up at the shop or delivered within the area via the website.

Pastalicious is due to open its doors officially next week on Monday, May 10.
