Police dog Nika tracks down drugs and suspect
A POLICE dog tracked a “big bag” of cannabis hidden in a bag.
The cannabis was initially located in a car which was stopped by officers on April 29 and the driver ran away from the Gloucestershire Police Specialist Ops team.
Police dog Nika and a police officer tracked the car and discovered the bag of cannabis hidden in a bush. They then tracked the driver, who they found “hiding in a shelter” and subsequently arrested them. A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: “A car made off from Gloucestershire Police Specialist Ops last night, the driver stopped and ran off. PD Nika and PC Shields tracked from the car locating a big bag of cannabis hidden in a bush, tracked on and found the driver hiding in a shelter - one arrested. Excellent nose work.”
