-

» TEWKESBURY will be home to Gloucester AIW while Langford welcome Almondsbury on Sunday in the Stuart Canvas Gloucestershire Trophy.

Chipping Sodbury received a walkover when Stroud II pulled out of the competition, and will now be away to Golden Hill II in the first round.

Opener Callum Nicholls, meanwhile, top scored with an unbeaten 92 and George Macduff hit 51 for Painswick who eased past Oldbury-on-severn by nine wickets in the Voneus Village Cup.

Oldbury reached 184-9 from their 40, Isaac Elkins capturing 4-39 from his eight, to pave the way for a comfortable win.

Painswick are now through to the Gloucestershire group semi-finals where they face a trip to Rockhampton, 18-run victors away to Corse & Staunton.

George Driver-dickerson’s 51 and 32 from Chris Willoughby helped the Rams total 167-9, Callum King and Bertie Wyatt bagging three wickets apiece.

Corse then came up short as Martin Cropper (4-34 from seven) and Chris Pearce (2-21 from five) turned the screw.

The other county semi-final will see Cam, five-wicket victors at Apperley, host Frocester who had a walk-over against Winterbourne.

Dumbleton are through to the last four in the Worcestershire group after Bredon conceded, and Langford reached the Oxfordshire semi-finals after tieing with Oxford Downs.

Both sides totalled 190, but Langford clinched the spoils as they lost seven wickets compared to eight by Oxford Downs.

Two further WEPL T20 triangulars, meanwhile, are scheduled for Sunday.

Hatherley & Reddings will host Frocester and Bristol West Indian Phoenix, while Bristol are set to welcome Golden Hill and Knowle.

One WEPL side from a total of 36 entries will eventually progress to the national stages of the ECB National Club Twenty20.

Already through to the second local round are Gloucester, Thornbury, Bedminster, Taunton St Andrews, Bath and Trowbridge.

A busy day of knock out action continues with Cheltenham hosting Bedminster (1pm) in the ECB National Club Cup.
