As headline sponsor it would be not be right to enter the category at the Gloucestershire Live Business Awards but we are delighted that Gina Gardner in our Tax team has been shortlisted for a national award in the accountancy world, Tolley’s Taxation’s Rising Star Award 2021. The winner of the 12 shortlisted will be announced during a virtual event this afternoon ,thursday 13 May. Our fingers will be crossed for her!
Gina is no stranger to awards having become an award-winning trainee in 2017 as AAT Rising Star of the Year, which was quickly followed by being shortlisted for Professional Member awards in 2018 and 2019. As part of this she was thanked for “inspiring all other AAT students and showing them what can be achieved”. Gina was also crowned Rising Star of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards 2018 and was the only trainee on the shortlist.
Gina has achieved a huge amount in a very short space of time. She joined the firm as an apprentice at the age of 18, and attained her AAT qualification in just 16 months, then successfully completed the joint ACA/CTA programme – becoming a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser at the age of 24. She has quickly risen through the ranks from Trainee Accountant to Senior Corporate Tax Accountant in just 6 years. She has not only excelled in her studies, but she manages her own rapidly expanding client portfolio in our corporate tax team. I expect every business has employees similar to Gina who need to be celebrated. I would urge you to consider writing an entry for Employee of the Year – it’s such a great way to get recognition for your team, celebrate their hard work and their contribution to your business.
