IN a summer that looks increasingly full of festivals that can finally go ahead, another magical occasion has been added to the county’s calendar.

The stunning grounds of Sudeley Castle will be the venue of a fantastic three-day event this July.

From July 16 to 18, the serene green grounds will be transformed into the backdrop to an inclusive and welcoming sci-fi and fantasy event, Fantasy Forest Festival.

The weekend is guaranteed to be a fun one for fans of everything sci-fi – from Star Wars to Game of Thrones, and Lord of the Rings to Marvel.

Fans of all things fantastical will be able to bring the whole family along to the magical event as the weekend will be packed full of activities and events everyone can get involved in.

Visitors can try their hand at a range of craft and skills workshops, enjoy live music performances, have a go at soft archery, explore the market stalls, or be transported to another realm with captivating storytelling.

The “highlight” of the festival will be taking place on Saturday, July 17, when a beautifully crafted wicker sculpture will be set alight in a spectacular fire display.

Martin Pelgrim, from Fantasy Forest Festival, said: “We’re delighted to bring Fantasy Forest Festival back to the glo- rious grounds of Sudeley Castle this July. The festival will be buzzing with a wide variety of exciting and unique activities and entertainment for all the family. It’s a wonderful escape from the realities of the past year.”

Day tickets are available, or fantasy fans can camp within the striking grounds of the historic castle near Winchcombe. Visitors can bring their own tents, or book a luxury pre-pitched tent for their stay.

The whole family is welcome – even dogs in most areas, as long as they are kept on a lead and cleaned up after.
