POPULAR Mexican-inspired eatery Taco Bell has opened in Cheltenham. A 10-year lease was signed by the American fast-food giant in October for the former Caffe Nero building in High Street, leaving taco fans across the county waiting for an official opening date.

And now, Taco Bell has given the people what they want.

Mexican-inspired food-lovers were finally able to get their hands on quesadillas, tacos and burritos at the store yesterday (December 22).

The brand threw open its doors for dine-in, takeaway and click and collect orders.

The launch marked the brand’s 84th UK restaurant opening.

Customers are able to order food in advance via the Taco Bell app, or use the digital kiosks or tills in the store to dine in or take food away.

Known for its customisable and quick-service Mexican-inspired classics, Taco Bell has been serving tacos, burritos, nachos and its famous quesadillas to hungry UK fans since November 2010.

The restaurant is its first in Cheltenham and follows a revamp that has transformed the building into a stylish space over two floors.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring Taco Bell to Cheltenham,” said Lucy Dee, head of marketing at Taco Bell UK.

“Cheltenham has been crying out for a Taco Bell and we’re very pleased to be able to deliver, creating local jobs despite challenging circumstances.

“We look forward to feeding residents, whether it be dine-in, click and collect or takeaway.”
