Hughes leads the way with a hat-trick for Chalford in 7-0 win

JACK Hughes hit a hat-trick as Chalford beat Bibury 7-0 in the first round of the Northern Senior League’s Reg Davis Cup,

Luke Barstow, Luke Brunson, James Keylock and Simon Loftus also scored, while Matthew Cairns was another hat-trick man, for Brockworth Albion in their 5-0 win over Smiths Barometric­s, Ash Bird getting the other two.

FC Lakeside beat Harrow Hill 3-0, Deqwon Ebanks scoring twice with Elliot Green getting the other.

Lydney Town Reserves won a 4-3 thriller against Falcons as Harry Williams found the net twice and Ryan Dawson scored from the spot, but it was left to Joel Morse to bag the winner with the last kick of the game.

Scott Davies (2) and Dylan Tucker netted for Falcons, while Ed Hawkins and Ben Hemmings sealed a 2-1 win for Charfield at Frampton United Reserves, Harvey Cowley their scorer.

James Belfitt and Taylor Blaby saw Broadwell Reserves through 2-1 at promoted Mushet & Coalway, who replied through Tom Knight.

Brett James scored twice as Tredworth Tigers beat Tewkesbury Town 4-1, Jacob Rodgers and Ismael Drane netting the others.

Tigers had made it through in the preliminar­y round with a 3-1 win over Berkeley Town, with former Gloucester City man Lee Smith among the goals.

Thierry Shitto and Lee Dyer also netted for the league newcomers, promoted as Stroud League champions last season.

Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves beat Cheltenham Athletic (formerly Andoversfo­rd) 3-2 with goals from Josh Fivash, Riley Greenwood and Harry Mansell, with Kai Mohon and Ergys Berisha replying.

Xander Jones sealed a 1-1 draw for Abbeymead Rovers at Viney St Swithins, and Rovers won the penalty shootout 4-2.

Bredon were also penalty victors, 3-2 at Longlevens after the sides shared a 4-4 draw.

Simon Cooke and Liam James sent Staunton & Corse through 2-1 at Whitecroft, for whom Daunte Davis scored, and English Bicknor were 3-0 winners at Woolaston.

Dursley Town won 4-1 at Charlton Rovers and Leonard Stanley beat Chesterton 1-0

Last Wednesday, Rene Nistor scored twice as Stonehouse Town Reserves came through 3-2 against King’s Stanley.

Ben Jones scored their other goal with Dalton Hoskins and Shane Tanner replying for Stanley.
