High quality Dining with a ‘wow factor’ at first rooftop restaurant

OUTDOOR gourmet types will be excited to hear new tenants have been confirmed at Cheltenham’s first rooftop restaurant.

Located at the refurbished Quadrangle, The Nook on Five will be delivering a fine dining experience like no other.

The restaurant is expected to open in November. It certainly has a prime and lofty position, with panoramic views over Cheltenham and beyond.

Situated at the junction of the Promenade and Imperial Square, the rooftop eatery will have a bar and a balcony and will look over Imperial Gardens in one direction and the Cotswolds in the other.

The Nook on Five promises innovative menus featuring a blend of contemporary British cuisine with subtle references to traditional French food.

Speaking to Visit Cheltenham, Edward Surman, director at SH Retail Investments, which has taken on the lease, said: “There has been a huge amount of work that’s gone on behind the scenes to get to this point so we are thrilled to now be able to make the big reveal.

“As Cheltenham’s first rooftop restaurant, we cannot wait to welcome people so that they can enjoy a fine dining experience with the added attraction of panoramic rooftop views.”

He added: “Alongside the care and consideration that will go into our menus, we want the interior to mirror the same sophistication and attention to detail to ensure guests have a truly unforgettable experience.”

The Quadrangle was built in 1973, when brutalist concrete architecture was all the rage. But the style of the building has not aged well.

It has been rather unfairly described in some quarters as ‘Cheltenham’s ugliest building.’ But thanks to some investment and vision, this is quickly becoming the place to be in Cheltenham. James Woodard, of property agents Hartnell Taylor Cook, who acted on behalf of the landlord, told Visit Cheltenham: “The question about who is going to be taking the rooftop restaurant has been by far the most asked since the news was announced about the Quadrangle’s refurbishment plans.

“We’re really excited about having The Nook on board and know that it will be a fantastic addition to Cheltenham, bringing a premium dining experience that is sure to have the wow factor.

“The remaining two retail units are also currently under offer and we’re looking forward to revealing more tenants as soon as we can. With Bosco being so well received and now news of The Nook on Five, the Quadrangle is shaping up to be a must-visit.”
