Abbeymead back in County League

-

ABBEYMEAD Rovers Ladies have retained their place in Division One of the Gloucestershire County Women’s League following a turbulent summer.

The longstanding County League members appeared to be folding after the league constitution was confirmed without them last month. However, when the League fixtures were released this week, Rovers were among the teams in a 10-strong Division One line-up.

Fixtures begin on Sunday, September 4, although Abbeymead do not play until hosting newly-promoted Dursley seven days later.

There will be 10 teams in Divisions One and Two, and 11 in Division Three after the addition of Ashton Keynes, while Montpellier’s plan to join has resulted in the management and players breaking away to compete as Andoversford.
