Haynes off to Saints

-

Town Under18s coach Pete Haynes will leave to join Southampton’s academy next month.

The 27-year-old has been the Robins’ lead professional development phase coach since 2017.

Haynes was in Cheltenham’s academy as a player from Under-14s to Under-16s and has been coaching within the club since.

The former Sir Thomas Rich’s School student was the youngest coach on the Advanced Youth Award (Level 4) and Uefa A Licence coaching courses, stepping up to manage Cheltenham’s youth team at 22.

He will now become an Under-18 individual development coach at Southampton.

Haynes was also assistant manager at Evesham United last season as part of a link with Cheltenham, who regularly use the Southern League club’s 3G pitch for training.
