Final shifts Danny the champion of the village to shut cafe after ten years
APOPULAR business is set to close for good this weekend. Danny’s Cafe and Bakery, formally World of Taste Cafe, will end its journey in Bishop’s Cleeve on Saturday, August 27.
After ten years of service in the local community, Danny and his team will be saying their final goodbyes. They’ve thanked the local community online in a sad statement that has touched hundreds of people.
The cafe will continue to service from 8.30am until 4pm on Monday to Friday this week. While the final day of service will be from 8.30am until 2pm on Saturday.
In a statement released online, Danny’s Cafe and Bakery said: “After 10 years of service, starting out as World of Taste Cafe and evolving into Danny’s Cafe & Bakery, it is with regret that we announce the end of our time here in Bishop’s Cleeve.
“Our last day of service will be Saturday 27th August 2022. We would love to see as many of you as possible before then, as you have all been a key part of the daily running as well as the heartbeat of the cafe.
“Since joining the village my Staff and I have been very much involved in various community projects and events, promoting local businesses and charities both locally and internationally. I have always been impressed by people’s generosity and spirit, coming together in times of need.
“It is with sadness that good times, fond memories, chats, and the development of positive working relationships, along with your love and commitment to me and my team, have come to an end. It is time for me to do something different!
“We wish you all well in your lives and futures and thank you for your kind words and contributions to our success. Good luck and good health one and all, love from Danny and team.”
Councillor for Bishop’s Cleeve West Ward Richard Stanley (LD) shared the post on his Facebook page saying that he was “really sad to read this”.
He said: “Really sad to read this, Danny has been a great community champion as well as a valued local business.
“I would like to thank Danny and everyone at Danny’s Cafe and Bakery and wish you all the very best of success for the future.”
