Caffe Nero is back ... and so are two of the staff

-

COFFEE shop Caffe Nero is returning to Cheltenham town centre less than a year after closing its doors last November.

Two members of the original staff will be returning to their jobs at the new Lower High Street premises, just a few doors down from the cafe’s original home, when it reopens in midoctober.

When the shop closed – said to be following communications with the landlord – the staff were apparently given only a few days’ notice.

They were offered moves to other nearby stores, but two members of staff left the company during the process.

A spokesperson for Caffe Nero told the Echo’s sister website, Gloucestershire Live: “Our Cheltenham store will open in mid-october, having originally closed during discussions and negotiations with the landlord.

“Two of the original team will be moving back to the new store, and we’re delighted the store is able to reopen.”

They added: “It’s a great community and our customers always helped make our store a warm, friendly and comfortable place to be.”

The new cafe will be located at 223 High Street, which is believed to be just five premises away from its previous home next to Primark.
