IT’S TI TIME
Alfa Romeo has announced prices for its Tonale crossover, the car that will join the Stelvio in the Italian brand’s SUV line-up.
The range is super simple with only two trim levels available: the Ti and Veloce. That said, there’s a launch edition as well called the Speciale.
There’s only one powertrain available at launch and that’s a 160bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine with a seven-speed double clutch transmission with a built-in electric motor.

A decade or so ago, there was a Dutch company that built an interesting three-wheeled vehicle that leaned into corners like a motorcycle.
The company was called Carver, and after selling several hundred machines, it went bust.
I drove/rode one not long ago and found it a lot of fun.

Now the name Carver is back making a similar machine but electrically powered. The new version, right, has a range of 80 miles, a top speed of 50mph and can carry two people or one plus cargo.
It’s priced from £9,158 plus VAT. In the UK, it’s distributed by Cleevely EV (cleevelyev.co.uk) with the Veloce at £42,505.
Since Alfa Romeo is a brand that struggles to sell product in the UK, it might have a bit of trouble shifting the Tonale at these prices. We’ll see.
