County provides two judges for Rupaul show
GLOUCESTERSHIRE is set to supply not one, but two guest judges for the new series of Rupaul’s Drag Race UK.
The BBC Three show is set for a new series “imminently” according to the broadcaster’s website.
And joining the list of celebrities helping choose the next Drag Race Superstar are Years and Years vocalist Olly Alexander and FKA Twigs.
32-year-old Alexander, who won plaudits for his role in Channel 4 series ‘It’s a Sin,’ spent much of his teenage life in the Forest of Dean.
Meanwhile, songwriter, dancer and actress FKA Twigs, aged 34, was born and raised in Cheltenham.
“Drag Race has had a big impact on my life,” said Alexander of the announcement.
“So it was pretty mind blowing to be part of the judging panel this series.
“It felt like a real privilege to be a part of this show and support such amazing talent here in the UK.
“I had so much fun and I can’t wait for the world to meet the queens, they were great.”
FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah
Barnett, said: “I was beyond excited to be a guest judge on this season of Rupaul’s Drag Race UK.” The full list of judges is as follows: Actress and activist Dame Joanna Lumley; TV presenter Alison Hammond; Actress Hannah Waddingham; Singer-songwriter Boy George; Iconic fashion model and celebrity chef Lorraine Pascale; Spice Girls member Mel B; Model, presenter and influencer Leomie Anderson; Singer and actor Olly Alexander; and Singer-songwriter FKA Twigs.
