Sunak would have been a better bet
TO finance the planned current domestic assistance for higher gas bills, Liz Truss is prepared to borrow heavily and expect the next generation to pay it back.
In contrast, Gordon Brown, a prudent Chancellor, would not follow this route, but would only borrow for investment in infrastructure now, whereby the next generation would also benefit from this investment and will repay their share.
There, in a nutshell, is the reason why Rishi Sunak should have been our new Prime Minister - rational decisionmaking.
