O’sullivan to test for F3 champions Prema

» WILLIAMS Racing Academy Driver Zak O’sullivan will take part in the FIA Formula 3 post-season test at Jerez de la Frontera with the 2022 champions PREMA Racing.

The 17-year-old has just completed an impressive rookie year in the series, achieving two podiums and a pole position.

O’sullivan finished the FIA Formula 3 season in 11th place after the final round in Monza, Italy.

In practice, Withington’s O’sullivan was first with eight minutes left on the clock. but eventually finished ninth.

In qualifying, a top 10 finish looked possible but with 15 minutes remaining of the session, the red flag came out and O’sullivan ended in 17th.

After penalties were applied, he lined up 16th for the sprint race, and on lap four, O’sullivan locked up and his race ended in the barriers.

In the final race of the season, O’sullivan and his team aimed for a drama-free 22 laps, with hopes of finishing towards the points.

Starting 17th, he climbed up to 14th but his ascent was interrupte­d by a big incident which brought out a safety car and then a red flag, with O’sullivan classified in 11th.
