Future now

Now this is a proper concept car. Wacky, a touch of science fiction and thought provoking too. It comes from an unlikely manufacturer, Dacia.

Dacia calls this flight of fancy the Manifesto and tells us that within it lies many ideas that will be used on future models. For example, Dacia intends to pursue its policy of facilitating the use of smart phones in its cars rather than offering acres of complicated and expensive flat screens. Another idea Dacia is trying out in the Manifesto is Youclip – a system to secure a variety of accessories. Also, there are roof bars that can be moved into various different configurations.

As a long-time Dacia fan, I’m looking forward to seeing some of these ideas appear on future showroom models.
