-

ALL-ROUNDER George Scott is to leave Gloucestershire after two seasons with the club.

Scott featured in 32 games across all formats, scoring 618 runs and taking six wickets.

His high score of 77 came against Hampshire in this season’s County Championship Division One campaign.

He played his last match for Gloucestershire in the Vitality Blast against Middlesex in July, then joined Somerset on a short-term loan in August to play in the Taunton side’s remaining Royal London Cup matches.

Scott averaged 59.50 in the 2021 one-day season for Glos, scoring two fifties in eight matches.

The 26-year-old, who joined Gloucestershire from Middlesex ahead of the 2020 season, said: “I want to thank the club for the last few years.

“I’ve been lucky to get to know so many great people, from the playing staff to the backroom and office staff.

“It is now time to take on some new challenges in my life.”

Performance director Steve Snell added: “George has been a pleasure to work with but we can’t provide him with the opportunities that we think would further his career.”
