Niamh shines in an England vest at Bristol
AT the Great Bristol 10k, Bourton Roadrunners’ veteran Niamh Shoemark was selected to represent England and acquitted herself brilliantly in a time of 42.36, finishing 10th in her agegroup.
She said afterwards “I was happy enough with my time, but there’s still room for further improvement”
Husband Ian was also running, navigating his way through the crowded field of runners, to narrowly pip her at the finish in a time of 42:23.
Claire Carroll was putting the final touches to her training for the Yorkshire Marathon, in three weeks, by running the Ealing Half Marathon and was pleased with her time of 2:07.32 seconds.
Jaq Underwood, finalising her preparation in readiness for the London Marathon next weekend, took part in the Llanelli Half Marathon and completed the run in 1:45.40 and was 3rd LV55.
