Niamh shines in an England vest at Bristol

AT the Great Bristol 10k, Bourton Roadrunner­s’ veteran Niamh Shoemark was selected to represent England and acquitted herself brilliantl­y in a time of 42.36, finishing 10th in her agegroup.

She said afterwards “I was happy enough with my time, but there’s still room for further improvemen­t”

Husband Ian was also running, navigating his way through the crowded field of runners, to narrowly pip her at the finish in a time of 42:23.

Claire Carroll was putting the final touches to her training for the Yorkshire Marathon, in three weeks, by running the Ealing Half Marathon and was pleased with her time of 2:07.32 seconds.

Jaq Underwood, finalising her preparatio­n in readiness for the London Marathon next weekend, took part in the Llanelli Half Marathon and completed the run in 1:45.40 and was 3rd LV55.
