Johnsons on song at Angels 10K

ALMOST Athletes had 12 members at the Angels 10K, first home for the club in 42:15 and 25th overall being John Johnson; while Joanne Johnson took first place in her age category, finishing in 43:55.

Ollie Nolan was third in his category, coming home in 1:11:25.

Over the same distance, Issy Ravenhill earned a new PB of 46:02, as second female at the Bournville Leafy 10k, while Adrian Courtenay ran the Longworth 10k in 1:18; and Jason Hulance and Leah Maddiss ran the Cheddar 10k in 55:05 and 1:01:20.

Dave Nelson ran his first half marathon for three years, the Scottish Half Marathon, in 2:36:36.

Elliot Jordan was part of a team at the Equinox 24 event that completed 26 laps of 10k in the space of 24 hours, with Jordan completing six laps.

Mike Daly and Phil Jeyes competed in a swim-run event at Lake 32 in South Cerney, completing four loops of a 300m swim and a 1km run in just under an hour.

At parkrun, 85 members ran at 27 events with Chris Handscomb runing his third PB in a row at Cheltenham (24:40), Matthew John got a PB at Cheltenham (21:44), while Ellie Haile did the same at Lytham Hall (24:44 – first in age category), as did Daniel Magovern at King George V (22:40).

Rosemary Hubbard bagged a course PB of 22:19 at Weymouth, as did Neil Tring at Hereford (21:36), Mark Medland at Ross-onwye (25:04), and Sam Wizard at Evesham (26:11).

At Cheltenham, Richard Knightley ran his 100th parkrun and age category wins were earned by Robert Foord at Chippenham Playing Fields, Monmouth (20:12); Angela Hardy at Wolverhamp­ton (26:16); Martyn Fisher at Whinlatter Forest (33:20); Sharon Hadad at Heslington (25:18); Jeanette Gullick (24:28) and Kieran Keating (21:38) at Cheltenham; and Ross Greening at KGV (24:45).

Members also ran at Kingsway, York, Cannon Hill (Birmingham), Newent, Fulham Palace, Peel, Itchen Valley Country, Severn Valley Country, Teignmouth, Gloucester City, Exmouth, Guernsey, Cwmbran, Witton, and Tewkesbury.
