Drag star to headline LGBTQ+ halloween event

-

A DRAG star who achieved fame through the second series of Ru Paul’s UK Drag Race will headline an LGBTQ+ event in Cheltenham this Halloween.

Ellie Diamond will take to the stage for Angels & Demons Fright Night.

Revive Events is hosting the the event at Under the Prom from 7pm on Friday, October 28, with performances from BBC Introducing’s spotlight artist Keanan as well.

Organisers of the event have said visitors can expect drag queen hosts and dancers dressed in ruffle dresses, eccentric wigs and jaw dropping outfits. There will also be fire eaters on stilts lining the Montpellier pavements alongside interactive horror hosts.

Once the clock strikes midnight, DJS will take over the night to the sound of uplifting house anthems. Meanwhile, Revive performers will keep the crowd dancing until the early hours.

Speaking on the launch of their first Angels & Demons night at Under the Prom, Steve Douch, creative director at Revive Events said the following: “Revive Events are all about bringing class acts and entertainment to support the Cheltenham LGBTQ+ scene. Our county doesn’t have a designated LGBTQ+ venue, so our aim is to provide a safe space for those in the community throughout Gloucestershire.

“As well as working with Under the Prom, we’re also working alongside other Cheltenham venues to create fully inclusive events which are a safe space for all to experience top entertainment and great DJS. Our Revive Masquerade Summer Ball held in 2021 filled the venue to capacity, so we’re super excited to see the community descend on Under the Prom for one HELL of a night.”

Chris “Ed” Scadden, co-cheif executive at Cheltenham Pride, added: “As we continue to work towards building a more inclusive Cheltenham, it is wonderful to see another LGBTQ+ event happening in our beautifully diverse town. We look forward to partnering with the fantastic event teams and promoters across Cheltenham to help ensure we have safe, diverse and inclusive events for all.”

Tickets for the Angels & Demons Fright Night start from £20, which will also include a glass of bubbly upon arrival.
