We’re lighting up Christmas at The Cheltenham Trust

-

CHRISTMAS is a time to celebrate as communities come together to mark this magical time of year.

At The Cheltenham Trust we’re lighting up Christmas across our venues and cafes with a vibrant programme of shows, events and activities focusing on bringing communities together.

This festive season there’s a host of sparkling events, many of which are free, for everyone to enjoy.

From the simple pleasure of enjoying a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie while listening to a festive choir; to creating your own wrapping paper and cards at one of our creative workshops, browsing the Christmas artisan markets, a festive cabaret and comedy night, children’s crafts, and an après ski atmosphere at the Garden Bar, which will be transformed into a snow topped lodge for the festive season.

The excitement begins with the switch on of the sparkling Christmas lights at Pittville Pump Room on Saturday November 26 when the trust, a not for profit charity, hosts a free event for all the community.

With carols, festive music, seasonal food and drinks in the Heritage Café and a festive food fair, the arrival of a very special guest and, even snow, we’ll be bringing those traditional Christmas card scenes to life.

Those magical moments of watching the faces of children light up with wonder when they catch sight of that famous man in his red suit with his bushy white beard and gaze in awe at the beauty of the twinkling lights.

Come and get into the Christmas spirit from 10am when the doors open on the festive artisan market, inside the pump room, heralding the start of a day full of seasonal fun.

This year’s event is bigger than ever with live music and choirs from midday; strolling panto characters from The Leckhampton Players, and for our younger visitors, we’ll be joined by Queen Elsa of Arendelle, Princess Anna and Olaf, the snowman, from Disney’s Frozen, who will be singing the movie’s big number ‘Let It Go,’ as we build up to the big switch on at 6pm.

Your support through donations, such as rounding up your bill at the till, helps the trust, as a charity, to continue to provide community events and activities that are free to access and enjoy and to do even more.

The lights switch on marks the beginning of a festive month for all the family and community across the trust’s venues. It’s time to let the magic begin and we cant wait to celebrate with you all.
