Missed chances prove costly for Fairford as they lose to Pegasus

-

» FAIRFORD Town paid the price for missed chances as they went down 2-1 at home to Hereford Pegasus in the Hellenic League, Premier Division.

They trailed 1-0 at half-time and conceded a second after the break, with an own goal their only consolation.

Paul Holmes scored twice as Cheltenham Saracens were 4-0 winners over Swindon Supermarine Development in the opening round of the League’s Challenge Cup.

Edd Major and James Barnes-wills also scored, while there were also wins for Cirencester Town Development, Evesham United Development and Moreton Rangers.

Mani Singh put Moreton in front against Feckenham, and Jish Burford added a second before half-time.

Feckenham missed a penalty before Sam Beddoes added the third for Moreton, before a consolation goal for the visitors made it 3-1.

Cirencester won 6-5 at Headington Amateurs after a 2-2 draw and Evesham were 4-2 winners at Littleton, thanks to Dan Lee, James Tolley, Jack Wright and Elijah Martin.

But Bourton Rovers went out as they lost 1-0 at home to Clanfield 85.

They bounced back on Tuesday with a 3-0 Hellenic League Division One win at

Cirencester Town Development.

Manager CJ Price signed Deqwon Ebanks and Harvey Brookes before the game.

Ebanks scored 20 goals in 11 starts for FC Lakeside last season, while Brookes switches from Cheltenham Saracens.

And Brookes wasted no time making an impact with a goal on his debut, Jordan Mitchell scoring the other two as Bourton moved up to 10th in the table.
